Every church has its version of a get-to-know-us class or course, sometimes called next steps or discovery course. They are designed to bridge the gap between someone who is new to the church and the church itself. However, they can sometimes fall into the trap of being a glorified volunteer recruitment ad. With our version of this, Welcome to the Family, we wanted to do it differently. There are two main focuses: to help us understand each other as church and individual, and to help propel you into a calling, whatever that looks like. Our goal is not to plug people into programs; it's to help you identify your unique giftings and encourage you to step into more.
If we are to multiply our leadership, we have to first know that we are leaders and that we have a call to influence. Then, we have to go out and use that influence to build the Kingdom of God. There are many parts of the body, but one goal: to glorify Christ. Our hope is to witness every person come into their gifting, and that it would overflow into families in our community.
