AGM Minutes - March 25th, 2025

  1. Call to order by Pastor David at 1:22. Instructions about the online files available at fivecornerschurch.ca/AGM
  2. Prayer: Pastor Danny Sawatzky - for the Holy Spirit to move in us and our community
  3. Scripture (1 Corinthians 11) and Communion: Pastor David Nadon
  4. Appointment of Recording Secretary – Amy Markstrom.  Moved by Lena Johnson, Seconded Diana Mangold, Carried.
  5. Motion to approve 2024 AGM Minutes.
    • An error was noted in the printed minutes. Line 7, Adopt the minutes of last year’s minutes was a copy paste error. Line removed.
    • Moved by Vahlleri Semenuik, Seconded by Jessica Fricker, Carried.
  1. Roster Report: Total members present 27 of 35. Quorum met. (need 25%)
  2. Appointment of Scrutineers – Doug Koch submitted names of 2 other scrutineers: Connie Plett and Carol Finstad.
  3. Election Instructions: Pastor David Nadon
  4. Nominating Team (Tim) The nominating committee would like to thank the church for your suggestions. Two names to be presented:
    1. Delmar Johnson
    2. Heather Nicholson
  5. Lead Pastor’s report: David Nadon. Church Leadership Team Secretary Tim Frazer took the chair.  Moved by Ruth Griffiths , Seconded by Diana Mangold. Carried.
  6. Chair handed back to Pastor David Nadon. Prayer by Virginia Frazer - Thank you for God’s faithfulness.
  7. Election results. The two nominations were elected: Delmar Johnson & Heather Nicholson. Honouring of outgoing board member, Bruce Ingebrigtson.
  8. Treasurer’s Report by Heather Nicholson.  Moved by Heather Nicholson, Seconded by Danny Sawatzky, Carried. Question brought forward on facility rentals by Ruth Griffiths – the increase was because of an effort to raise our income via Telus lease, rentals for youth groups, funerals and weddings.
  9. Motion to destroy Ballots. Moved by Josee Sawatzky, Seconded by Jessica Fricker. Carried
  10. Thank you to the scrutineers, recording secretary, food services team and all those who helped prepare the lunch.
  11. Closing Prayer Pastor Lisa Nadon - Unity: "That we would serve faithfully, and others would be open to receive."
